We closed the distances between what we produced and consumed, making visible the responsibility of our actions and the labor, resources, and relationships behind what we eat, wear, and work with. Our commons are our lifeblood once again. They are the basis of our economic life and have inspired greater social cohesion, mutual trust, and creativity in our diverse communities. Small businesses and entrepreneurship are thriving. Open source software and technologies have empowered the entire world to engage in ideating new solutions and creating societal value.
